Julie & Butch & Brent, Dave & Shelley, Mona & Chris & Ryan, I first met Doreen (i.e. Mrs Anderson) when I was 5 years old at Queen E. She softened the blow of this new thing called school with her warmth and care. She then took a shortcut to RCI, but I took the long way and came across her again several years later there. And after that, I was at her home and cottage with Rob where we shared many, many good times. She always made me feel welcome. She was warm, understanding, hospitable, fun, and always had her arms open to me and my family over all these years. I will miss her tremendously and always love her dearly. The world seems an emptier place without her in it, but I will think of her fondly and often. Love, Virginia

Doreen was a lady that everyone liked on sight. Her warm and welcoming smile, coupled with her accepting nature, made it easy to call her friend. She will live on in the hearts of many.

Dear Julie, David and family, when I think of your Mom, I think of warmth and safety. I recall many years ago, she would bring a blanket in to me if I wasn’t feeling well, while I waited for my Mom to pick me up at school. She was so warm and caring and felt like a school “Mom”.
