I have many warm memories of Jim. He could be very persuasive. One fall day he and your Aunt Ruth appeared in our driveway at Norway Lake. At the time Jim was president of the Norway Lake association and Ruth was the treasurer. I thought oh oh this can’t be good.
At the end of our meeting Jim had convinced me to run as a director. It was an enjoyable couple of years but there were rumours that Jim was ready to step down as President. One fall day Jim and your aunt Ruth appeared in our Norway Lake Driveway, once again I thought this can’t be good. At least I had some warning, I hid in the bedroom and I asked Diane not to answer the door.
Off course she didn’t listen and we had another meeting that lasted quite a bit longer than our first one two years before. As a result Jim had convinced me for the good of Norway Lake to run for election as President. Once again it was an enjoyable couple of years. Thanks Jim, Diane and I will miss you.
Our condolences to all in your family.

Jim McLellan Panton was my first cousin and a very staunch Scot and McLellan. My memories of Jim date back to Stirling and our early days in Woodstock after coming to Canada. The Pantons and Keaneys were very close and now there are only June & Joyce and me. Jim was always of good cheer, quick with a humerous remark and enjoying the company of others. Jim had a remarkable career with the development of air traffic control for Canada. Jim started with limited formal education but he had a very quick mind and grew his knowledge as he experienced opportunities. He had a worderful diverse career providing great contributions to Canada's air traffic control. But most of all, Jim was a fierce Family man whether as a member of the McLellan clan or the patriach of the Panton Family. Loyal, committed and very loving. He will always be in our hearts and minds. God speed JIm.
