Dear Chantal and family
Please accept my belated but sincere condolences. I was shocked and very saddened by the passing of Mike in 2019, as I have only found out now by trying to reach him. Mike was a great colleague and technology leader back in EcoVu days. We had many memorable and very pleasant moments working together, in the lab, travel to client's site, discussing designs... mostly with little or no pay. We were also connected with a shared patent along with the late professor Bryan Hollebone. I regret very much for not keeping in touch and not following up with Mile more frequently. Mike will be remembered as a great scientist, humanist, colleague and a role model.

I am so saddened for Chantal, Sofie and family to learn of Mikes passing. Mike tutored me in Math and Physics for 4 years during my time at University studying engineering. He was so patient with me as I learned and always helped when I was down and encouraged me. He will always be missed.

I was saddened to hear of Mike's passing. I knew Mike Donkers through Physics at Carleton where he was both an alumnus and an active teacher. Even in the face of severe medical challenges, he was committed to his students' education. My condolences to all the family.

My husband and I had the honor of meeting Mike when Chantal was pregnant with Sophie. Mike was such a gentle and thoughtful human being. He listened and gives his honest opinion. His influence on everyone was huge. For his love and devotion to the Lord and putting his family first says it all. He was a hard working man and even though he was in pain, he worked and worked to provide for his family.
My husband and I were so lucky that Mike, Sophie and Chantal came and stayed with us in New Jersey. They’ve been there for us when we lost our two beloved babies in 2018. We will always cherish those memories of Mike forever.
We love him very much and we love Chantal and Sophie so dearly.
