I just found this obit when checking out Rosebank Cemetery. I have known Tony since about 1960 when Glen Belanger and I would trade comic books with Tony when he lived in the railroad shed in Anticosti. Later when I worked at Earl's Esso with Pat & Jay Burns I discovered that Tony used to help Jay with his triganonamy homework. Tony wS very strong and a hard worker. He could pickup a full barrel or railroad spikes and hold it over his head. He would made money digging holes for people by hand. When I worked at Dominion Store he would come every Friday and hang out in front of the cashiers making funny comments which we a laughed at. Rest in Peace Tony.

Tony you and my Dad were such good friends and I grew up thinking you were my "Uncle Tony". I will miss you tremendously. If everyone could have a soul like yours the world would be a better place. Now Heaven is a better place. Thank you Tony for all the moments we had for I will treasure your memory.

Going home to Renfrew will not be the same without seeing Tony. I remember our last visit at the hospital and you were as charming and sweet as ever. Say hello to Mom and Dad while you're up there Tony. You were a good man and dear friend to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing you. I will bake a pumpkin pie in your honour because I'll never forget that Thanksgiving when I stopped on main street and handed you two that had just been baked and your shy smile was all the thanks I needed. I will pray for you and I will truly miss you! Rest in Peace with the angels x0x0

Tony travelled by bicycle all over Renfrew and Lanark Counties until his early eighties. He made friends where ever he went and times with him will be treasured by all. His quiet wisdom and his quick wit took him through good times and bad. His spirit will live on in those of us who loved him. God rest his soul.

I will be coming to say Goodbye Tony. I am going to miss our trips back and forth from Ottawa and the interesting to say the least conversations.
I will always remember and be thankful for the items you picked up for me on your yard sale excursions.
Rest in Peace.

Tony was a regular at Kate’s Barber Shop although he always cut his own hair at home. He would stop in each morning and have a chat while he waited for the library to open. He never asked for much and he seldom complained about anything. He lived a simple and very humble life and was a friend to all. His love for music and his tin whistles, had him borrowing my Irish drum from time to time, so he could record a drum beat, to go along with the whistles. He loved to travel and explore new territory and would bring photos of the wildlife he saw on his journey. Tony will remain in the hearts of many and I pray that he now rests in peace.

A 'trusted friend' since my childhood- a man my father said I could always trust and go to if I found my self in trouble...Tony and his bicycle travelled the K & P regularly and he always would stop in at the Calabogie municipal office to pick up the latest tourism maps of the area; we'd 'catch up' on what was happening and where he had been recently 'on his bicycle'.
I will miss our visits Tony. Rest in peace my friend.
