Barbara:
I knew you as a client, a colleague and a friend. You were always fun to connect with, whether to share a story, a film critique or mutual angst over some outlandish legal conundrum that we would solve together.
We all go through life in our way and perhaps one measure sums it up. You made the world a better place.

Dear Barbara, although we didn't get to meet in person, you made an impact on my life being the only other person I've met with this brutal form of PEComa. We had so many similar circumstances in our lives it was uncanny to meet you. I certainly wish it were under other circumstances. I'm sorry you didn't make it to one last visit to the Telluride Film Festival. I know that was a final wish - but now I believe you can participate in it always. You spoke so often about your niece & nephew and that all you wanted was more time with them. I hope they were by your side in your final days. I hope you rest now, that very busy mind of yours that was so hard to calm. You have impacted many people and you will not be forgotten. I'll see you soon my friend.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Barbara as her Pilates Instructor for many years in Toronto. . She quickly became a friend. I admired her passion and dedication to fitness. My deepest condolences to Barbara’s family and friends. I was lucky to have Barbara as one of my earliest friends. We went to St. Mary's primary school and high school together and were neighbourhood friends. She loved reading, was a great writer, and was just so smart. Even as children, I had so many great conversations with Barbara about everything from school to life in general, but then we also spent so much time just joking around and laughing. Barbara will always hold a dear place in my heart. She will never be forgotten.

I went to Law School at Queen's with Barb and I knew her well in that period of time. We were in the same small section in first year. We were also competitive mooting partners in first year and second year. Mooting is basically legal debating but you do a lot of research first for your written argument and then you attend a competition and do oral advocacy and you get marked by Judges. The moot in second year was particularly onerous. You had to compete to make one of the teams but if you were successful it was so much work that you got a course credit for it. Barb and I were both successful applicants and we were partners, working together. So, I worked with Barb in an academic setting as much or more than anybody else. Barb was an incredibly intelligent person, in my view far more intelligent than she admitted or acknowledged. I have worked with few people since whose opinion I value as highly. She was also as kind and thoughtful a friend or moot partner as anyone ever had. The loss of Barb is a loss to the world, which was a better place with her in it. My utmost sympathy to her family. Dear Barbara’s family members and friends. Sending you my condolences and heartfelt sympathy. I’ve only known Barbara through zoom meetings via Wellspring. I’m so happy that we were able cross paths on our journeys. The one thing that stands out to me is her always expressing her love of family. She loved her precious time watching tv with her mom, especially Jeopardy! I know she was close to her brother, as well, and particularly fond of her niece and nephew. I know her passing leaves a large whole in your hearts and lives.

An amazing person whose zest for life showed courage, determination and strength to the end. The first time I met Barbara, we had an instant connection so being her Manager at BNY was a pleasure and a privilege. Barbara had an infectious laugh and laughter was shared many times during our catch up calls. Even her cat would make an appearance every now and then.
Barbara's warm and caring nature was evident in the many initiatives she joined at BNY to make a difference. In turn, she made many friends who will be sad to hear of her passing. I know Barbara will be missed by myself and her colleagues at BNY.

Sharp, witty, and good company. The slightly mischievous glint in her eye often preceded something hilarious coming out of her mouth. A very talented lawyer, and of the 100's I've come to know well over 25 years in Banking, almost certainly the funniest.

This is such horrible news. Barb was my treasured colleague in Computershare's legal dept for many years. She was not only an exceptional lawyer and colleague, but a joy to work with. Such an interesting character, who helped bring many smiles and a few laughs to every working day. When I had my own cancer fight several years ago, Barb was a faithful and caring friend, checking in on me regularly. She was really one of the finest people I knew. A truly unique soul. My heart goes out to her family and all who loved her.
