Our sincere condolences to Ron's family.
We spent many enjoyable hours working together on Renfrew County Stewardship Council projects,The Envirothon, Bonnechere River Watershed project, and the development of the Shaw Woods Outdoor Education Centre.
His dedication to the preservation of the natural world was exemplary.

My utmost condolences to the family of my friend Ron. Only knowing him for about one year; where I visited him for advanced foot care, soon I discovered a gentleman of great character who cared so much about our world and how simple it would be to treat it more gently! We talked a lot about a variety of topics during my visits to his apartment; but our discussions about music were always the highlight. Ron and I would sing together in beautiful harmony and sometimes people would stop outside his door to listen to the melodies.
Truly, I am so thankful to have Ron Deshane come into my life. Thanks Ron for the beautiful book you gifted me. Such a talented and caring man has left us. Hopefully we can carry on for him his beliefs and his vision for our world to be a better place to live.
Proud I am to have known him!
Fondly,
Mary Etmanski

I haven’t known Ron as long has my father has. All I can say is I’ve heard many wonderful things about Ron and what he has done for the community, Shaw Forest and especially the imprint he’s left in my father. Ron is a true legend:). I am proud to say I shot my first deer along side Ron and my father, a memory that will last a lifetime. Rest easy Ron and we will all deer hunt together one day.
