My very sincere sympathy to Dave and all the family. I could never hope to improve on all the very nice commentaries on the great person Helen was, and while it is always sad when a wonderful shining light goes out in this world, we must cherish the fact that the family and the community had her on this earth for all the wonderful years that we did and pick ourselves up by the bootstraps and see if we can demonstrate some of her great qualities for the remainder of our time on this earth.

My deepest and most sincere condolences to Helen's family. Over the past few months, I had many opportunities to visit with Helen and Dave. I enjoyed the stories of how they met and the fun they had at the dances. With all the stories she told, the one thing that was most evident was the love for her family. I appreciated her kindness to my Dad and to us. May you find strength and comfort in each other and in her memories. She was truly a wonderful, caring, kind person and will be missed dearly. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Our condolences to Helen's family. As a close friend of Cecelia's I recall her mom as a soft spoken, hard working, considerate and wise woman. I recall the delicious lunches Cecelia would bring to school with roast chicken sandwiches - something unheard of in my family where peanut butter and jam was more likely to be on the sandwich. I imagine the effort and love that Helen put into so many of those school lunches for her family. One day a group of us arrived at the McIntyre homestead to pick Cecelia up for one adventure or another and she was in the midst of haying and couldn't come. We tried to pitch in and speed things along so Cecelia would be freed up. Dave and Helen shook their heads and suggested Cecelia go ahead and leave with us before we hurt ourselves. I think the McIntyre home was filled with loving kindness and a strong work ethic and what a wonderful legacy that is for Helen to have left for her children. I know this will not be an easy time - I hope you all are gentle with yourselves and that as time goes on there will be fewer tears and more smiles as you think of your beloved mom and the full life she lived.

Dear Dave and family: Jim and I are so saddened by Helen's death. What a lovely friend and mother and wife she was. We remember all the good times at your home with our family in tow and many euchre games in the early years with the Rices' and then the Shields. And the delicious lunch afterwards. How eager she was to help all of us when we asked and sometimes before we asked. Loaves of bread, raised donuts , etc. Remember all the donuts she made to help us raise money for the Girl Guides to travel to Mexico! I will miss her phone calls that she never forgot to send. Keeping us all together when we moved apart. I will miss my friend and her friendship. Mary

My sincere condolences to Dave and all of Helen's beautiful family. My memory of Helen is that she was the epitome of a lovely lady. Prior to moving into GPL, it was always a pleasure to greet her when she came in to visit Dave. She had the most gracious smile and such a warm disposition. We had many conversations once she became a GPL resident and it was a distinct pleasure to get to know Helen; her family and some of her grandchildren. Rest in peace, dear Helen. No doubt you will be greatly missed.
