Obituary of John Edwin Gordon Cox

Passed away suddenly at the cottage on Sunday January 14, 2024 at the age of 67.  John was born and raised in Brockville and resided in Ottawa Ontario. Beloved and devoted husband of Marianne (Maria Holt). Loving Father of Jason (Julie Cram) and Shawn.  Cherished Grandpa (Papa) to Emerson.

Dear Brother to Debbie Holden (Late Gary) and Steve.

Predeceased by his parents Edwin and Elizabeth (Ella Haley) and by his adored sister Mary Pressley (Mike). 

Survived by his sisters in law Ellen Roth (Corey), Dorothy Edey (Mark), Joanne Rosevold and his brothers in law Johnny Holt (Janice) and Rene Holt (Sandra).

John will be fondly remembered by Wyatt, Cole & Lindsey, his several  aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins , god children and friends.

John was a quiet and wise man known for his kindness, compassion and sense of humor. He volunteered for many years at Nepean Minor Hockey and Trend Arlington Community Center. He had a great passion for the outdoors, fishing, cottage life, travelling to Cuba and music.  He loved spending time with family and friends.  
 

John worked as a Welder, Computer Systems Technician (JDS Uniphase) and most recently Medical Gas Technician for 16 years at The Ottawa Hospital, where he retired two years ago at the age of 65.

When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.  John left this world a better place and will be deeply missed by many.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 27, 2024 from 1pm to 4pm at the Mill Street Brew Pub - 555 Wellington St. Ottawa, Ontario K1R 1C5 (Brewmaster Room, second floor)
