Obituary of Eileen Catherine Vice

Eileen passed away peacefully on Saturday August 19^th, 2023 at the Villa Marconi, Ottawa in the loving care of her nieces, Joanne, Elaine, Jane, Sheila and Rosanne. She was 91 years old.

Born in Renfrew, Ontario to the late Alec and Anna Mary (Murphy) Vice, she was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Clarence (Angela), Stella Prosser (Ernie), Geraldine Petrie (Basil), Tom (Eileen), Marjorie Cull (Leonard) and Bert (Linda). She is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Eileen was educated at McDonald College (McGill University) and worked for most of her career as a guidance counsellor in the Toronto District School Board supporting many high school students in pursuing their academic and career aspirations.  A life long resident of Toronto,  she was fiercely independent and loved travel, often alone, cooking and theatre.  

In keeping with her wishes, she is being returned to Renfrew for burial with her parents. She will be commemorated with a Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Renfrew on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.

Family members would like to sincerely thank the Villa Marconi staff in the Amore Unit for the wonderful care and support provided to Eileen during the last few months.
