I find it hard to believe she is gone, she fought so hard to overcome her health issues.
I met Elaine (far to many decades ago to count), and we hit it off instantly. She was funny, caring, compassionate, and honest.
We used to go cross country skiing together, and I swear we spent more time on the ground laughing our asses off. We also played softball together. We cheered on our favorite football teams, and more popcorn landed on the floor from out food fights than in our mouths.
She was a true friend. I married and had children, which pulled us in different directions, yet as soon as we spoke again, it was as if no time had gone by.
I spoke with Elaine 2 weeks before she died, we were planning to get together for lunch. I wish we had that time together.
She will be forever in my thoughts and prayers.
My deepest condolences to her family, whom I know she loved very much.
May you find the joy, laughter and love you deserve.
We lost and Angel, but Heaven was given one of the brightest lights I know,
Rest in Peace Elaine.
I will miss you.

I am so very sorry to hear of Elaine's passing. I knew her from living in the same building. I didn't know her well, but she had a passion for books (which we shared) and football (which she talked about to my husband). She will be missed.
Condolences to her family.

Sending my sincere condolences to Elaine's family on her passing. Elaine was my neighbour in our condo - I'll always remember her bright smile and her kindness. She loved life and she loved her family. She will be missed.

I was sorry to hear, only yesterday, about Elaine's passing away. She lived above me in our condo building. I didn't know her well but every time we met in the elevator, we would have a nice conversation. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

My heart aches. I met Elaine in December 1977 when I started working at Place du Portage and within a few weeks, I knew we would be the best of friends. We just clicked! "E" and I worked together for over 32 years and had so much fun and tons of laughs. I can't even recall us ever arguing. We joked about us getting old & crotchety together.
Wendy, Karen, Jerry, Stephen, David & Families - I can't imagine how devastating this is for you. Elaine's family was the most important to her. In talking to her I could always see how proud she was of her family and how much she loved you all.
I will miss you forever Dear Friend
Love "D" (Debby Roach-Lajoie)

Elaine...you were so much more than a sister...you were my anchor, my bright light, my best friend and my world is a darker and lonelier place without you. You were Love in its purest form. You knew no other way except to love with your whole heart and the more diseased and weakened it became, the more your love shone through. You will be so dearly missed and the void you left will never be filled, nor do I want it to be. You took a piece of my heart with you and I know it is safe in your hands. I will treasure and cherish every memory of you, and they are countless. Be at peace, and know that I will love you forever. Your l'il sissa, Wendy
