Obituary of Hilary Joyce Marshall (née Durant)

November 24, 1926 - November 19, 2022 Hilary Joyce Marshall (née Durrant) Hilary met her future husband Frank (Died 2018) at the factory they worked at. She in the Drafting Department, he on the factory floor as a machinist. While on a date ice skating in London, England in 1946, he offered to help steady her on her first uncertain steps; she accepted his offer and they steadied each other nonstop for the next 70 plus years. Hilary's great loves have been family, then gardening (she became a walking encyclopedia), various handicrafts, food growing and preservation, and mostly getting her hands dirty in whatever projects needed doing. Hilary has been persistently curious and confident. Her mindset was always that if she could imagine it, then she could do it. Leaving England in 1951 was a challenge for Hilary as she was very attached to a large extended family there. However, she created a close family network in Canada with her four sons, their partners, a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren who have all stayed in touch, even though dispersed across Canada Hilary leaves sons Keith (Anne), Ray (Mandy), Ian (Mary Anne), Kevin (Kathy), and her dear cousin Helen (Neil) who has maintained frequent contact from England all these years and served as a constant reminder that the English family was never far from her thoughts.
