What a beautiful lady!! She inspired me to continue piano lessons by playing "The Entertainer" for me before so many sessions. She would sit in her comfy chair off to my left and behind me and offer such polite, constructive criticism, mixed with just the right amount of praise to encourage a person to keep trying. She was very reluctant to start teaching piano, but she was just so good at it. And her organizational skills!!! The genealogical research that she showed me whenever she had a new piece of information!! I have missed her letters, even though she continued writing even after she (woefully for her) was unable to reproduce her elegant script. I will ache any time I am near Renfrew, knowing she is no longer there to visit. Rest in peace, Rita, and say hi to Marvin for me.

Sincere sympathy to Rita’s family. She and my sister, Doris were best friends, both teachers and kept in touch over the years. Doris died December 25, 2013. In the photo Doris is 6th from left and Rita on the end on right.
