I am so sorry to hear this news. I just heard today. Jack was a sweet man ;he was so very very kind to me and I am so glad for the wonderful visit we had at your Renfrew home. He recognized me after all those years. I remember you kindly taking me with you to a ball game in Pembroke where I saw a second to none pitcher. I wanted to send a written note but am not sure where you are now.

My sincere condolences to the Vooght family. A few thoughts of what Jack and his family were to me and my family. Jack was my basketball coach in high school. He was the coach of the only basketball championship team we had during the 5 years at RCI in the early 70's. When I started playing baseball with the Renfrew Red Sox I had the privilege to catch Jack's sweeping curve ball behind the plate. Even in his late 30's he could still strike out the opposition. Then I got to meet all of Jack's family. Jack and Ilsa were so warm and hospitable when they hosted the baseball team at their house. This is when I got to know how exceptional Jack and Ilsa were. There I met their children Paula and James. Then I realized actually how caring and loving Jack and Isa were together. This made a lasting impression on me as a young person what were the most important priorities are in life. Jack was always such a positive role model for me. I will always be grateful for knowing him and his family. And Jack's mother Mona was very good friends with my mother Mary. It was easy to see where Jack got his warm and caring personality. We were all fortunate to have Jack in our lives. Peter St. Michael and family.
