How greatly this gracious gentle lady is already missed, my beloved aunt! She and her beautiful family made my siblings and I instantly and forever at home when we arrived from Alaska for a first visit 50 years ago, and I'm confident she will be waiting at the Gates with her loving lively smile to greet all her relatives when our time comes! Aunt Loretta's sweet welcoming way inspired unconditional confidence; her memory brings to mind a saying of St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face: "How can I fear a God Who is nothing but mercy and love?"
Thank you Aunt Loretta for sending all those hand-written letters at Christmas time, despite your waning strength and the many miles between us! Thank you for visiting the family cemetery and other sites with me and your girls, and being so cheerful a companion at the luncheon your dear daughters hosted, though you were already much fatigued. Thank You & Uncle Bob for eggs, bacon, coffee and laughter at breakfast. Thank you for being such a lovely wife to the man whose Holy Spirit - inspired kick in the pants put a couple of us AK cousins back on the Road, laughing all the Way. Thank you for raising a wonderful family whose kind hospitality reflects yours! A grove of trees will be planted to honor that on-going gift to the world. We love you both and we are confident of & grateful for your intercession on our own way Home. With love & gratitude in the Holy Family,
