From the first time I met Mrs. McCann in my grade 7 Math class I had an instant rapport with her. The resect I had for her was most I had for any teacher I had. Mrs McCann had a great sense of humour and made school enjoyable. The two years she taught me were the most enjoyable and the best of school years.

To MJ and all the wonderful McCanns, may you find some peace at the time of losing such a kind, loving, fun, funny and optimistic person. You know best what an incomparably amazing person she was/is. Mrs McCann was my educator and saviour. She encouraged me to strive better in my education. I will always be fond of the memories of her teaching. To this day I use the Ketchup method to get caught up on my tasks.
Thank you Mrs Mcann for your support, guidance and encouragement to help me grow into the person I am today.

I met Mary for the first time as a teacher at St Francis -Xavier school.
Will always remember how she liked to address me with a few French words, her favorite was " même chose ....même chose " followed by a little chat and a laughter , wonderful memories of Mary .

Mary was an avid bridge player. Her and Ruth Grant were probably Renfrew's finest lady players in this game. I recall being taught this game at the Recreation Centre and both Ruth and Mary were great teachers. I also was in hospital back in 1969 and was sure Mary had a set of twins back then and chatted with her at the nursery window. RIP Mary, you were a great lady.

My very deepest condolences to the McCann family. Mrs. McCann taught me in Grade 7. She was one of my two favourite teachers. I loved everything about her. Her voice was so gentle and I so enjoyed listening to her. When she talked of her children who were very little at the time from what I can remember, I thought to myself, how lucky they were to have her as their mother. I truly admired her. She explained things so well and was very patient and kind. As a child that was so important...she made going to school a happy and positive experience. I met her a few times at Bonnechere Manor when I'd visit my mom and we had some nice chats. She was a beautiful lady in every respect. I am so very sorry for your loss. Everyone in the community had such high regard for her.
