Ernie farmed all of his life. He was also a woodworker. I remember his skills in building a piano bench as a birthday gift for my wife Mary Anne. I appreciated his excellent work. I am sorry that he has passed away and wish to convey our sympathy to Elizabeth and their children.

As the story goes, Ernie has been my father figure, friend and confident over the past 61 years. From running in front of his tractor, daring him to run me down, to giving me advice as I grew up, to becoming a close friend and travel buddy to myself and Al. He leaves a large empty hole in our hearts. But I also know he would want us to move forward and remember him with a drink of rum and a good story. We will think of you often.
