It was with such deep sadness that we discovered only recently of Larry's passing earlier this year. Sandy and I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends of many years in the Renfrew area. Larry was my first boss when I joined CP Hotels at the Chateau Halifax in Nova Scotia way back in 1978, (we were both very young), I was hired as a bartender and he was the Beverage Supervisor. We became friends quickly and enjoyed many evenings together after work and visiting my parents home down the south shore doing a little hunting and fishing with my father. I year later I transferred to New Brunswick and then on to Calgary to open a new hotel at the airport. Larry and another gal we worked with in Halifax soon joined me once again were working together. I was transferred back east the next year but Larry stayed and we reconnected again when I returned to Calgary 1985. We wound up renting a house together and over the next few years had some of the best times I had in my entire life. In particular was a great ski trip we embarked on in March of 86, when we decided to drive from Calgary to Whistler BC and ski every mountain on the way. After skiing the Rockies we headed for Panorama where we met with a gal I was just starting to date (Sandy) and sort of kidnapped her for the journey out to the Okanagan and Penticton. We eventually delivered her to the airport and carried on with our misadventures, sort of like Chevy Chase and Vacation... Larry and Sandy also became good friends and I can still remember them leg wrestling in the living room when they broke the wall. Larry was best man at our wedding in 1989 and we continued to be close after he moved back to Renfrew where we visited him. I arranged for his flight to come back out west for Sandy's surprise 40th birthday, which to me deep regret was the last time we saw him. It was a huge success and his presence meant the world to us both. We tried to stay in touch after that but unfortunately we lost contact over time something we both deeply regret. We don't know any of the circumstances of his passing but can only hope he did not suffer, he was truly a good man. Love always our friend, Phil and Sandy Robart. probart@shaw.ca

Uncle Larry was a kind and caring person. He was also very funny. I’ve always enjoyed hearing about his childhood antics. He loved to play hockey, go fishing, and occasionally find a little mischief with his many friends. I will be forever grateful for having had Larry in my life.
He will be dearly missed.
