John was a mentor, colleague and friend. He was professional, with world class knowledge, client value focused, fearless and had unchallengeable ethics. We worked on about 20 projects together and I learned from him on every project - especially when he was working for me. He was the best at constructive criticism. We once sat in a lounge, with a Scotch, or 2, for about 4 hours while John made "slight" improvements to my 80 page report. He was not even working on the project. We had met at the airport and he said; "Well let me take a look".
Another time I was in Ottawa & hw said, "Come and stay with Betty and me" - they were at the lake then and again John reviewed some analysis that the client had produced and suggested multiple "slight" improvements.
Class, dignity and a real friend.
I sincerely hope you are doing well Betty.
All the best

I have only just heard the very sad news of John's passing. I had known him for twenty five years. He was a man of great intellect, and a leading expert in his field. Always cheerful and upbeat, he made working a pleasure. I am proud to have called him a friend. Our deepest condolences to Betty and family. Peter and Belinda Morrow

John was a very dear and valued friend and colleague. Way back to the days when he and Betty first came to Canada and John joined Stevenson & Kellogg. I am more sorry than I can say that he is no longer with us. Love to Betty. Hang in there my dear.
Anna Shepherd
PS - Ron Denham sends his deepest sympathy too.
