To the Charbonneau Family: What an amazing person Helen was. I loved running into her in Calabogie and having a chat. It really was a treat to be in her presence. She was a force of nature with so much energy. Her smile lit up a room. I have fond memories of working with her at the Whippletree! It was comforting to know that Helen was in charge keeping everything running smoothly. She was like a mom to us all! Your family has been through more than your share of heartbreak. You so loved life, and lived it to the fullest, as life permitted.
These last few years have been very challenging, but, you
still managed a bight smile “sometimes only on command for
the camera”. Some days were harder than others. If what we are told is true you are now in the midst of your family that have gone before you, and oh what a greeting it
must have been. You have as many family and friends there, as you have left here.
We are sad we will no longer spend time with you here, but, know you were getting weary and had to go. Your job is done, and now it’s time to rest......

I was so deeply saddened to hear of Helen's passing. She was such a wonderful lady with a heart of gold. Whenever I was fortunate enough to have a visit with her I always remember that 1. She always looked the same and never aged and 2. What a wonderful sense of peace and love you felt just by being in her presence. She was such a warm hearted, special lady with a beautiful smile and such a personable character. All of her wonderful attributes have definitely been passed onto her children and family and will live on for many years to come. So sorry for your loss! We are saddened by this news! When we moved to Calabogie in 1999 knowing no one, we came across the family Charbonneaus! Our friendships started, and honestly till this day, although at a distance consider them family. The first time I was introduced to Miss Helen, was in the Buckhorn. I know, I said the Buckhorn, but so was inspired by how happy she was, and how good I felt after meeting her. An extra special woman, heck you’d have to be with the family she raised. I say that with so much respect, and from the bottom of our hearts, Sue and I pass on our love to you all! We can’t be there, but consider this email the biggest Bourgeau bear hug we could give! To the Charbonneau Family
I had the privilege to meet Helen when I lived an worked in Calabogie in the mid 80's. I also went to school with a few of the boys as well as meting most of the family through the golf industry. I liked Helen straight away as she reminded me of my Mon. She spoke her mind and her tongue was not in her pocket. I would always say hi over the years and she never forgot me.
