My dear cousin Marc. You came in and out of my life, my whole life. I never knew when you were coming to visit but I was glad when you did. You were always a giant character and I loved you very much. At a young age you decided that you no longer wanted your Elton John albums so you gave them to me. Introducing me to my favorite musician. I thank you for that. My condolences to your family. I know everyone is missing you so much. I'm sorry, I only just discovered that you are gone. I was wondering where you were and assumed you were in B.C only to find out you were just down the road in Renfrew. I'm so sorry about that because I could have easily come to see you.
I know that you are rocking up there with all your family that has passed before you. Please send my love to my Mom and Dad, who also loved you so much.

Uncle Marc was the embodiment of what you mean when you describe someone as "a character". Full of life, laughter, and life experience, Uncle Marc was always a bright light in a world too often plagued with darkness and cynicism.
In a way, we were very different people. Before I had met him, he had already lived at least two lifetimes full of struggle and adventure, surviving which gave him a very relaxed outlook. Meanwhile, I was young, idealistic, and all too serious (still am). But, his love of knowledge, history, culture, and music were not just impressive, they were contagious, and I found someone whose experience expanded my perspective on many occasions.
He made friends everywhere he went, and more than that, he was considered family by many.
I am blessed to have had the chance to get to know him, to listen to his stories, his music, and share in so many good times and memories. I am glad that he is at peace and finally reunited with Dante, his beloved pet and travelling companion.
Thank you, Uncle Marc, for everything. I'll do my best to carry your life lessons (intentionally given or not) everywhere I go.
See you on the other side.

I have so many fond memories of Uncle Marc, almost too many to count. My earliest memories of him were of driving in his big truck, eating werthers candies while rocking out to music, and visiting his house to play with his big dog Dante. There was always a good laugh, and a cool story to e topld and never the same one twice! We shared a love of books, we often spoke of different series we were reading and I always knew I could get a good book recommendation from him! As a kid I thought it was fun to have another Uncle I could be goofy with, another family member I could look up to. Now, I am older and realize how great a privelage it has been to have had him in my life.
Uncle Marc,
I miss you already, I'll miss you for always, but I'll keep these moments forever.
My Love to you Uncle,
Xoxo-Danielle <3

Marc was such an important member of our family. All who met him, came to love him. His humour and easy going attitude along with loyalty and love of animals were among his wonderful among the things that you learned about him very quickly.
Marc and I spend loads of time together joking, laughing and simply talking. I will miss him forever and feel we were truly blessed to have been giving the opportunity to know him!
Love forever,
your favourite sister-in-law! (Inside family joke!)
Tammy xo Marc and Rest in Peace

Thank you Carole so much for the wonderful pictures of Marc. So nice to see them all.
I agree with you about Marc's full name as he had told me this year's ago. For some reason he's been calling himself Marc Harry these last 10 years or so. I don't know why he started with this but this is how he wanted things.
Shame that you didn't add anything nice to say about him from those early years.

Marc was baptised Marc David Aurele Garnham at St Peter's Anglican Church, Meriv ale Road, Ottawa, Ontario. There is no Harry in his name. His godparents were his maternal grandparents, Aline Lacroix & Aurele Fex. David was David Rawlins, a witness at the baptism and the spouse of Marc's aunt Wilma Garnham. His paternal grandmother, Mary Garnham, was also a witness.
