To the Leclaire Family, On behalf of my family, I wanted to extend our condolences to your family. We have many fond memories of Roddie. My father Mickey and my grandfather Alan McArthur had many years working and laughing and enjoying the great times they shared. I have memories as a child being at the Leclaire family homestead as well. Great memories, a kind man and the blue eyes say it all. God Bless and Rest in Peace Rod. We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved Hot Rod. When I came on here to send you our condolences, my heart was filled with sorrow for you. I read the condolence from Steve St. Michael, and my eyes quickly filled with tears. I never knew Rod, but I believe now that I know the man he was. I now feel sorrow for myself. Not for the loss of Rod, but for the loss of never having been blessed with crossing his path. My first thought was that this world has lost a wonderful soul. But I quickly realized that we have not lost his soul, but rather the vessel which carried it. One which had become riddled with pain. God has released him from the pain, and his soul suffers no more. And though the vessel that carried that beautiful soul no longer walks this earth, Rod's soul will always be walking right beside you. He will join God, and loved ones who have passed before him, and there he will be embraced in eternal peace. And with them, he will watch over you. He will lift you up when you fall, he'll comfort you when you're saddened, and his soul will smile when you laugh. On behalf of the family of the (late) Frank & Betty Shean (Lukus), I send our deepest sympathies not only to all of Rod's beloved family and treasured friends, but also to his precious "fur baby" Nytrol. Hot Rod was a true friend. He would never let you down and always had something funny to say, he was one of a kind. Hot Rod and I go way back. He did a lot of work for me out at the farm. Spitting wood each fall, grass cutting, fixing things, you name it. We even had the odd pint and solved the worlds problems or at least a few of our own. I can still see him laughing and looking at me out the corner of his dancing blue eyes. As Hot Rod would say 110%, Steve, and that's the way he did things, 110%. My deepest condolences to all his family and friends and his wee dog, Nytrol, who was constantly by his side along with his loving wife, Ellen. She was his strength, his soul mate. When they rented the apartment at my store I would smell all the great meals Ellen would prepare for Rod for dinner. He was a lucky man to have such a great woman to share his life with. Rod will be missed by many and forgotten by none. All the best to you Hot Rod on your beautiful journey to the other side. I'm sure you'll be greeted with open arms my friend. There is no one quite like you Hot Rod, you are one unique individual. We will miss you dearly my friend. Until we meet again old chum my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. My condolences to my Grandmother and family of Rod. He was a kind person who always wanted to help others when he could. One of my best memories of him was when he bought Christopher "Chrissy" to Rod, a new guitar. He was so excited to teach him to play. He loved when the grand kids would come visit. I'm sorry he is gone. He will be missed.
